I do think it's a little expensive for what's offered, but it's a very convenient location and the bowls are pretty good :)! This definitely is not a sit down restaurant, the interior is pretty small, but campus seating is across the street if you're looking to go with friends :D

I've been craving healthier take-out food lately and I decided to go to Freshroll. I used to get their banh mis, but I've lately been obsessed with their spring rolls! They're not the most authentic (coming from a Vietnamese person), but they're fresh, filling and delicious. I think the $5 per spring roll is fair considering how filling it is to more traditional spring rolls. I've been so obsessed, I've gotten it two days in a row...

My absolute favorite bite to eat in Berkeley (tied with Mezzo)! I've been consistently going ever since I started school and I quite literally cannot count how many times I've gotten freshroll so far- about once a week on average during the school year. Their fresh rolls are amazing and a healthy, filling option (if you get 2). Favorite is the chicken + NamNam sauce. ($5 each) Banh mi's are quite decent and a good option for something that's easy to eat when you're on the go. Both the spicy porker and chicken banh mi options are good. (~$10 each) But the absolute love of my life from here has to be the Spicy Porker bowl. It literally brightens my day. You can choose different bases and sauces, but I get the vermicelli noodle base (or white rice) and NamNam sauce, and I love it. The bowl itself feels indulgent, but is well balanced with different vegetables and a fantastic flavor profile. Highly highly recommend. It's $14, and the portion is generous so it's super filling. (Tip: get sauce on the side unless you want a LOT of sauce on top, which sometimes, I do) Limited seating inside though, definitely a takeout kind of vibe. Fast service, reliable, and actually tastes so good. Live laugh love freshroll. Truly a staple in my Berkeley eats.

I always go to Freshroll for a quick, healthy option. I love their Freshrolls and Banh Mi, their bowls are a hit or miss for me. This is not really the place to go if you're looking for something authentic or super filling, but still a go-to around campus!

Love love love freshroll! I always order this when I'm near campus or stuck at the library. It's a healthy option and comes with enough food for two meals. I really love the nam nam sauce and how flavorful it is. My go-to dish is the freshroll bowl with chicken, rice, and nam nam sauce! The banh mi's are also super yummy.

Freshroll never misses. It's located close to campus, has a great menu with reasonably priced (and dare I say, cheap?) options, and has friendly service every time. I always order freshrolls with grilled lemongrass pork and the Namnam sauce as well as the $10 combo meal with the mini lemongrass pork sandwich, bone broth, and taro chips. I find myself actively craving Freshroll quite often because it is that good.

I ordered the lemongrass spring rolls with peanut sauce. The portion is worth the price since each roll has a variety of ingredients in it. Only con is that there is barely any seating in the restaurant. Would order again!

My preliminary thoughts as I've only eaten from here once: Far from authentic, this Vietnamese inspired fast casual spot is quick, healthy-ish, and catered to college kids at college prices. If it's convenient, it's not a bad spot for a quick, somewhat inexpensive meal. However, I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way for it. We went with banh-mis, both the shrimp and pork variety. A forgettable roll filled with fresh crunchy vegetables and protein. I was more into the pork than the shrimp as it had a bit more flavor. But in the end, mostly due to the bread, I'd forgo the banh-mi next time and opt for the bowl. Everything was made quickly, they cut my sandwich in half as requested, but no napkins in those to go bags.

Would I consider this the most authentic place? ...not particularly Does it hit the spot when I want something on the lighter and healthier side? Sure Would I come back again - especially when I'm with a group of friends for a snackpass party deal? ...Absolutely! I finally tried out freshroll and got the vermicelli noodle bowl with lemongrass pork. The noodles were a bit thicker than I anticipated. I also requested for the NamNam sauce on the side. Next time, I will request the sauce mixed in because the sauce container wasn't even to coat all the food....which means that the portion size was a lot more than I was expecting! I also really liked the pork...very flavorful and not dried out. I'm not sure if I would go for that sauce again though. It was too mayo-heavy for me. But overall, I really enjoyed this meal and would probably get the same thing again. It was actually so much food that it served as two meals for me! My friend got a new item on the menu: garlic noodle with chicken. She wasn't the most impressed with the chicken and said it was just okay.

I placed an order through grubhub for two tofu spring rolls because I had a $5 off gift card. The order was completed pretty quickly (within 15 minutes). I waited for my order inside the establishment which consisted of a few ordering screens and some tables and chairs. It wasn't too busy when I went, but there was some waiting involved. The spring rolls themselves were good. The veggies tastes fresh and the tofu was flavorful. I wish they had some type of fresh herbs inside cause it would make them better. The nam nam sauce is soooo yummy and compliments the rolls nicely. I do think that they are pretty expensive at $5 a piece and probably won't go out of my way to stop by here again for this reason. I would recommend this place but again just wish it was a bit cheaper!
